My Pastor said something this weekend that has stuck with me. I don't remember all the details just what it means to me. So if I get some things wrong feel free to stab me in the neck with a rusty fork.
He told the story of some preacher dude who was asked about Mother Teresa, supposedly there was/is some controversy over something Teresa had said about doubting in God based on the suffering she had seen in the world, you know the whole why does a loving God let us suffer thing.
And so somebody asked this preacher dude If he thought she was a hypocrite and preacher dude said "yes of coarse she is, we all are"
When I heard that I was like whoa.
It made so much sense to me.
Of coarse she is, of coarse I am of coarse you are.
We all say and not do.
Do and then lie.
Lie and then never do.
We are all full of shizzel. The difference is found beneath the surface though.
Do you front and pretend in the sight of men in order to obtain there worship and fluff your pride?
Or are you real with who you are?
Broken, filthy little sinners, trying to be better.
I am not talking about being proactive in sinning.
It really pisses me off when legalistic christians hear stuff like this and automatically start saying "well you cant just do what you want to do and hope that blah blah blah) get over it! some one who really knows God and is born by His spirit will not blatantly remain in sin! Because I love God not because of obedience to a set of stupid rules.
I am the hypocrite king, I am the chief of all sinners, yet I am the definition of redeemed
All praise belongs to God who chooses the worthless dung of this world to be His children!

Your pastor never ceases to amaze me. His words, are Christ's words. We forget that Christ spent the majority, of his time, with SINNERS. Props to the Man after God's heart.
