And now for a diabetes update:
I still have not gone to a doctor yet, we are trying to secure some insurance first, because having diabetes is expensive! I just had to buy some of the testing strips and they cost 50.00 for 100 of them!
That means since I use 7 a day, they will only last me about 2 weeks!!!! I don’t really have 100 bucks extra a month for this crap!!!! Oh well I guess I have to do it though...
I have talked to a good friend of mine who is a doctor and she was able to give me some good advice for free! ( its great having my own free Doctor I can call and get advice from, thanks H. Love ya! ) But there has not been any medicine prescribed to as of yet.
Its all about the diet.
It is all about the exercise.
It is all about the crucifixion of my will and body.
My blood sugar level is down, at first I cut out carbs completely which is stupid hard, which in turn got my blood sugar down to a normal level (117) But then I found out that its good to have some complex carbs in my diet (YES!!) so I introduced some whole wheats back into my daily intake.
Since then my levels have been a little higher(see above picture), not nearly as high as before though, remember I started at like 340 so any drop is a good drop. I will start exercising soon, maybe even tonight.
This does suck, but I am learning to make the best of it, I might b**** about it sucking from time to time but rest assured that I am doing what is needed to be done.
I will beat this!
I got a handy little app for my iphone called glucose buddy that lets me log my glucose levels, exercise etc. This is a screen shot of my progress.
